Group sessions
Humans originally lived and thrived in group community spaces and for centuries, and relied on its web of support to learn and grow. Today accessing support is harder than ever, as we have to reach through distances, manage commutes and work demands that keep us separate and even isolated from the nourishment that we need. Groups online give you back that essential access to support with the kind of community that has a sense of what you have been through, and in the time and space when you need it the most. I have been facilitating groups for two decades, and it continues to be the most powerful way I have found to cultivate long-lasting transformation and connection. Not only that, but the work we do together in group creates a ripple effect, infusing a droplet of new possibilities and healing into the the larger web of collective change.
Somatic Experiencing Group
Restoring Peace
This is a 5-week series that aims to increase your capacity for wellness, aliveness and connection using Somatic Experiencing® (SE) and other body-centered traditions. In this group, we will learn the psychobiological basis for toxic stress, and how the body’s hardwired survival strategies can keep you safe but also sick. We will discuss how the nervous system relates to your mental and emotional health, and practice practical tools for self-regulation in the face of adversity.
In each group I will offer psychoeducation, followed by group experientials and a discussion on how to apply this in everyday situations in your life. Post Traumatic Growth Group
Finding Wholeness in the Dark
This online support group is for womxn survivors of trauma who are ready to shed old identities, walk through the unknown and explore the possibility of growth after trauma. In this group we challenge the concept of “recovery”, as adversity for many of us may be ongoing, daily and continuous. With this in our embrace, we will simultaneously explore the possibility of adversity as a catalyst to locate power, resilience, self, truth and wholeness.
The group will be present-moment focused, process-oriented and weave in Somatic Experiencing® (SE) exercises to deepen individual and the group’s capacity for expanded aliveness. We will work to dismantle the all-too-often effects of isolation after trauma by building our community of support together, which you will be able to take with you no matter where you go.

Eco-Wellness Group
Finding Community in a Warming World
Is worry about climate change and destruction both a serious concern for you and something that you find hard to deal with beacuse “I don’t even know where to start?” You are not alone. In this group I bring forward the latest research on EcoPsychology as well as centuries old traditions to cultivate a supportive space for us to move from immobility to connection. There is no doubt that the least we can do is to stay present to ourselves during this time in the human story. But we cannot do it without support. And perhaps that is the first lesson from our beloved planet.
I will offer weekly topics in this 5-week series to help us heal, rest and transform. Topics include: How pain helps us with connection, self-care for burnout, numbness, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, healing through storytelling and origin story, Enchantivism, earth ceremony, Innterconnection and Inter-being. I will also offer practical practices during the group and in-between sessions to support your process.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Testimonials
“We have co-facilitated several therapy groups and professional presentations in the past, and I’ve always enjoyed her ability to hold space, guide, and equip individuals with valuable tools to resource, and safely reconnect with their bodies. Livia is extremely knowledgeable in the somatic therapy approach, and in the use of trauma aware and experiential interventions. She was the first person I felt comfortable with to explore and learn about the benefits of yoga in mental, emotional and physical health. She genuinely cares about the people she serves, and will commit to help you grow and feel empowered as you move through your journey. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend you working with her, whether as a client, or a fellow clinician! ”
“I was fortunate to be trained by Livia in leading therapeutic yoga groups at a residential treatment program for clients healing from a wide variety of mood, anxiety and trauma related disorders. I continued my training with her in her Yoga Informed Psychotherapy Program and consider her an integral part of my education as a therapist, yoga instructor and group facilitator. Livia has been my most profound mentor and learning from her truly transformed my approach. She is attuned, compassionate, incredibly intelligent and ceaselessly present. She has a unique set of skills and area of expertise that I have not encountered in other teachers or therapists. I consider myself so fortunate to have studied with and learned from her.”
